Education and Training

      In 1966, he took up Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Calcutta, India He then pursued his Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 1969. In 1973, he took up Diploma in Development Economics in University of Cambridge, England. He eventually gained his PhD in Economics at the same university in 1977.

      Dr. Hossain was trained through a Training in Project Analysis (Education Program and Project Course) at the Economic Development Institute, World Bank in April - June 1978. He also attended a Management and Leadership Training by O’Hare Associates in 1994. Dr. Hossain also participated at the International Internship Program on Intellectual Property Rights at the Michigan State University, USA in 1998.
